Laying foundation for a future

Nov 23, 2011 | 8:10 AM

Students from the Carlton Carpentry Apprentice Program (C.C.A.P.) at Carlton Comprehensive High School got a lesson in brick laying.

Most days the students can still be seen working on their Habitat for Humanity building project on 12th Street West, but one day a month they take time out from that building project to learn the tricks of the trade from professionals.

This is the second year the C.C.A.P. program has run at Carlton. Students enrolled in the course spend the first half of the school year away from the classroom and actually utilize their skills hands on while assisting Habitat for Humanity and a family in need of a home.
