Jim Pankiw in court for DUI charges

Oct 6, 2011 | 7:08 AM

Former MP and Saskatoon mayoral candidate Jim Pankiw appeared in court Wednesday facing charges of impaired driving and driving with blood alcohol over the legal limit.

These charges stem from an incident in July. His next court appearance was scheduled for the end of the month.

Pankiw served as a Reform Party MP and later with the Canadian alliance.

Pankiw was highly controversial in his politics, and well known for a provocative pamphlet campaign during his term as representative for Saskatoon-Humboldt.
