SPCA cat crisis continues

Nov 10, 2010 | 3:10 PM

Staff at the Prince Albert SPCA are between a rock and a hard place. The shelter is overcrowded with cats and if home can’t be found they may be forced to make some tough decisions about the future of these felines.

Debbie Lehner with the SPCA said ideally, 20 cats need to get adopted out over the next week. If not, they may have to use their last option, which is euthanasia.

“For now we’re asking the public if they do find a stray or abandoned cat to hang on to it and call at the SPCA,” she said.

Debbie said even though they can’t take in any more cats they can take descriptions and hope the people who report the stray cats be able to house the cats temporarily.
