Raiders fall to the Broncos

Prince Albert SK- The Prince Albert Raiders fall to the Broncos 5-1.

After coming off a victory over the Spokane Chiefs to snap a 7 game losing skid, the Raiders fall 4 points behind the Swift Current Broncos for 5th spot in the Eastern Division with a loss tonight at home.

The Broncos opend the scoring at 13:12 of the opening period after a failed clearing attempt by the Raiders was kept in by Bronco defenceman Stepan Novotny who wristed a quick shot from the blueline to beat Jamie Tucker.

The Broncos would extend their lead to 2 when a harmless looking shot from Jordan Peddle trickled through Tucker and was tapped in by Killian Hutt, giving the Broncos a 2-0 lead heading into the 2nd.

The Broncos added another on the power play before the Raiders scored a power play marker of their own at 2:28 of the 2nd period to make it a 3-1 hockey game. It was Jonathan Parker getting his 12th of the year after he collected the rebound of a Mark McNeill point shot and put it past goaltender Mark Friesen.

Swift Current would add their 4th before the period was over to make it a 4-1 game heading into the 3rd ending Jamie Tucker's night who was replaced with Eric Williams at 5:52 of the second period.

Williams would stop 29 of the next 30 shots in the latter half of the game but the Raiders were unable to beat Friesen losing the game 5-1.
With 14 seconds left in the game the Bronco received 5 fighting majors to the Raiders 4 in a line brawl that will be reviewed by the league for supplemental disciplinary action.
