Tad Kornegay announces on Twitter he’s no longer a Roughrider

Jul 19, 2011 | 11:44 PM

Twitter has been an interesting thing for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The day started off with Vice President of Football Operations saying that meetings have been held and solutions made and now the team has to move forward.

Then at around 9 p.m. veteran Roughrider Tad Kornegay said this via twitter. “#RiderNation sorry to say but as od Midnight I will no longer be a Roughrider. On Waivers. I know…#notsmart I wish it wasn't true.” Kornegay has been one of the best Roughrider defenders in the previous two seasons but was moved from a hybrid linebacker/defensive back role to a more traditional corner on the far side of the field under Richie Hall's new defence.

Kornegay has been quite open about not being happy with the new spot and would rather be closer to the middle of the action.

The team has been unable for comment at the time of the story being posted.

More from Kornegay

That wasn't the only thing Kornegay tweeted late Tuesday night. Here is what else he had to say:

“#RiderNation sorry to say but as od Midnight I will no longer be a Roughrider. On Waivers. I know…#notsmart I wish it wasn't true.”

“Its True Rider Nation. Im sorry to announce it…its the part of the biz we cant control…You know i will always bleed green! #notsmart”

“So with that said about my Waiver….I will wait til tomorrow to air things out lol…if you know me this should be interesting!!”
